cake iconBirthday Club

On each child’s birthday, he or she receives:

  • Wrapped birthday gifts

Because of your kind donations, we provide new, wrapped gifts and a cake, to each child on his/her birthday.

For most of our children, your gift(s) and cake will be the only one they’ll receive. These children would not otherwise be celebrating their birthday. Phoenix Children's Project makes their birthday, a special day to look forward to and remember.

easter iconEaster Basket

The children will receive an Easter Basket. The sponsor may either make an Easter Basket. We will provide you with details if you want to do this or for a $15 donation, we will provide the basket.

Some groups, such as Girl Scouts, make it a group activity and they will make baskets for the kids and also deliver to the excited recipients. All baskets are delivered the day before Easter. We need volunteer deliverers.

baby rattle iconWelcome Baby

When a mother of one of our children is expecting a new baby, we provide a diaper bag filled with items needed to welcome the baby into the world. Each new diaper bag contains diapers, wipes, bottles, washcloths, sleepers, baby powder, lotion, etc

foodbox iconFoodbox

The Food Box Sponsor shops for and delivers the food directly to the family once a month. We provide you a shopping list and the box will cost the Sponsor approximately $35-55 per month, and provides food for the children and entire family. Our Food Box Program requires a six-month minimum commitment.

Being a Food Box Sponsor is very rewarding as you will deliver the food directly to the family and child in need, and you will get to know them personally. You will be able to see firsthand the benefits of your generosity.
Emergency food boxes are also provided through our Family Matters Program.

family iconFamily Matters

Various needs can occur at any time and so our Family Matters Program helps with those needs. One portion that falls under this program is that we assist with household needs such as laundry detergent, toilet paper, toothpaste, shampoo and other household supplies. We will provide a "household box" on an emergency/as needed basis.

We can also assist the family with beds/bedding. These are either purchased new or provided from private individual’s gently-used donations.

tent iconSummer Camp

At the beginning of the school year, a few kids are given a challenge to get good grades in school. If they achieve this goal, they are rewarded with a week at summer camp in Northern Arizona (near Mormon Lake). They will roast marshmallows, hike, fish, kayak, horseback ride, learn outdoor skills, etc. This is will be an experience of a lifetime that they will never forget.

Phoenix Children’s Project provides them with all the supplies they will need including sleeping bag, canteen, hiking boots, swim trunks, backpack, sunscreen, etc.

halloween iconHalloween

We help provide kids with costumes and they will either go trick or treating on their own (with their mom) or come to our party. At our party, we provide the kids and their parents dinner, we play games, have costume contests, tons of candy and just plain fun! We’re trying to create fond memories for these kids whose childhood is humdrum.

Our volunteers will bake festive cupcakes and donate costumes and props to make this a really fun night!

swimming iconSwimming Lessons

Each summer a few kids will be invited to swim lessons. These lessons are given by the City of Phoenix and paid for by Phoenix Children’s Project.
